Objectives

Ä Past Continuous Tense
Function : To say that
somebody was in the middle of doing something at a certain time.
The action or situation had already started
before this time but had not finished.
Pattern : S
+ was/were + Verb-ing + O
Examples : I was walking home when I met David
What
were you doing at 10 o’clock last night?
When we arrived,
he was cooking Mexican food.
When the solar
eclipse happened, we were watching TV.
Ä Simple Future Tense
Function : To say that
something is going to happen in the future or something what we have arranged
to do.
Pattern : S
+ shall/will + Verb I + O
S + be + going to + Verb I + O
Examples : Susy will buy a new dress tomorrow.
We are going to visit our friend at the
hospital tonight.
Ä Future
Continuous Tense
Function : To say that
somebody will be in the middle of doing something at a certain time in the
future.
Pattern : S + shall/will + be + Verb I + ing + O
Examples : (+) we
shall be going to Medan next week
(–) we shall not be going to Medan next
week
